Along with Cloak & Dagger and the Incredible Hulk, Marvel is going to produce yet another live action series called “AKA Jessica Jones”, not to be confused with “Alias” which was the name of her series in the comics. According to Variety, “Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is writing and producing a series based on Jessica Jones, the superheroine turned private investigator, for a planned fall 2011 premiere on ABC.” In the current comics, Jessica Jones is married to Luke Cage. Together they have a daughter named Danielle. Will we see Luke Cage in the series? Will the entire series take place before they get together in the comics? Will the series even be in continuity? These and more questions have yet to be answered since this is a recent announcement but I look forward to the answers. You can find out more in the Variety article and maybe here too.

Real Housewives of Avengers Mansion?
Needless to say, I won’t be watching this show. This is insulting. ABC is actually going to give a series to a secondary character in the Luke Cage universe when Luke Cage himself has not been featured neither in a film or on TV. They’re going to spinoff a character from a primary character that has not received any kind of spotlight beyond the pages of a comic book? That would be like Lois Lane getting her own series before Superman. Or Steve Trevor getting a series before Wonder Woman. That’s a bunch of pure idiotic lunacy!
I’ll accept this and give it a shot if it means we’ll get a chance to see a live action film of Heroes for Hire: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing holding it down.
