About
FOLLOWING THE PORTRAYAL OF SUPERHERO CHARACTERS OF AFRICAN DESCENT IN COMICS, BOOKS, MOVIES, TV, AND THE PEOPLE WHO BRING THEM TO YOU.
I don’t make comic books but I read a lot. I don’t make movies or animated series but I watch a lot. I’m a fan of all Black Superheroes and Black comics in general, and have been for decades. Formerly the BlackSuperheroBlog, this site has a similar purpose; to share my love of Black Superheroes and Black Comics with the world and to give thanks for those who make them possible. Maybe I’ll be able to get you to join in. The goal is to make this a community. Your help and feedback is appreciated. If you would like to contribute, please click the button below.

I am working on building myself into an independent comic book creator (artist/writer/publisher) and I intend to tell the stories of several black characters/superheroes. Your blog has been a wonderful resource for me in terms of keeping me current on what’s out there and some history. Thanks for all the work you put into your previous blog, and I will continue to follow you here at your new site (I use your RSS to make sure I get all of the updates). I like the new look! – the Tags area is cool… it allowed me to quickly check on if there was a new Blokhedz out… (of course there isn’t one yet)
Peace,

This website is awesome! Thanks for sharing your passion.
Finally! I have long been searching for a blog focusing on the portrayal of black super-heroes in the comic industry.
Thankfully a Google search led me to your blog – it is awesome! I have been a long comic-book fan since childhood. However, it has always bothered me that there is very little representation of Africans or African-Americans in mainstream comics.
My disgust has caused me to drastically reduce my reading of mainstream comics. I still love the medium, but in 2010, it is inexcusable how little minority involvement there is both creatively and editorially at both Marvel and DC.
Your blog is serving a very important purpose – and I’m learning facts I didn’t know. For instance, I never knew the Black Panther was originally conceived as “the Coal Tiger!”
Please continue with the excellent work you are doing. You most definitely have added another (excited) reader.
this is a cool site, im amazed!

I love your site. I have been following for over a year now. Keep up the good work. I was wondering if you could make the superhero characters click-able on the top of the page under the words black super fan. Sometimes i don’t know some of the heroes that you feature and would like to click on them to find out who they are.
My HATS off to you my Brotha. Im new to your website world but have checked you out here and there when you had your other site which inspires me and my small creative team as we re-engineer the way many ideas and characters are portrayed, processed and designed. I will surely remember you and a few others who have added to the value of this unique side of the industry when I begin the Films and other productions we have in the process of producing that contain an evolution to what Black Characterism and Characterism as a whole is REALLY ABOUT. You are an important MAN.!!!! Thanks to you from STARR.RAYCHARACTERS Universe.!!!
